From parades to games to fireworks, Delaware Beaches know how to party for the Fourth of July.

Lewes, De

Lewes Light House Monument - Kings HighwayYou can spend the whole day in Lewes, if you are feeling really festive! The town will begin the celebration on the 4th at 9 am, hosting old fashioned games for kids on Second Street. At 1:30 pm, following the games, Lewes will host an Independence Day Boat Parade (rain or shine) down the Lewes- Rehoboth Canal, sponsored by Freedom Boat Club of Delaware. Good viewing spots can be found on either side, lining the canal. The day will go on with more fun with the Lewes Doo-Dah Parade, which will go down Kings Highway to Second Street and end on Savannah Rd. No one knows when the Doo-Dah Parade will start, which adds to the entertainment of this iconic and entertaining parade! The day will finish with fireworks launched from a barge off of Lewes Beach at dusk! Best viewing for the fireworks will be from the ferry terminal.

Rehoboth Beach, DE

Rehoboth Beach will host their celebration for Independence Day on Wednesday, July 3, with a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 9:30 pm. The fireworks are launched from the beach south of Rehoboth Avenue and visible up and down the boardwalk and beach. The bandstand will be rockin’ with a concert from The Funsters. They will perform 8-9:15 pm before fireworks and then again after the fireworks until 11pm. Make sure you get there early for parking!

Bethany Beach, DE

Bethany Beach Delaware - July 4thYou can also head south because the “Quiet Resort” of Bethany will not be so quiet for the holiday in their lineup of celebration! Downtown Bethany will be celebrating their 35th anniversary of their 4th of July festivities with a parade at noon and concert by Jimi Smooth and the Hit Time Band at 7:30 pm. Fireworks will be at the beach at dusk.
