President’s Day - What to do in Coastal Delaware Over the
President’s Day Weekend in the Delaware beach area will keep you having fun with things to do all weekend long! So if you are considering coming down to southern Delaware, to check out where things are or touring communities with Coastal Life Delaware, your “down time” will def not be “down.” Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Area will be busy, with restaurants and some shopping. Bundle up, stroll on the boardwalk, and enjoy the salt area. The Rehoboth Beach Film Society will be presenting an African American Film Festival (Friday, 2/15- Sunday, 2/17). Find more on Rehoboth Beach Film Society. The Cape May – Lewes Ferry will be in full operation, if you want to take a day trip ride across shore. For ferry schedule here. Bring some extra clothes, bundle up and get free loaner bikes of all sizes at the Cape Henlopen Nature Center at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes. The wooded trail is fun to ride and it’s enjoyable to climb the observation towers and check out the cannons on display. Cape Henlopen State Park is magnificent, no matter what the season! If you are looking for something fun for adults and kids alike, check out Lefty’s Alley and Eats in Lewes on Route 1. On Sunday, they have a special for 4 people that can’t be beat and will be fun for everyone! The special includes bowling, shoes, pizza, soda, laser tag, and even arcade play – all for $69! Appropriate for all agesFor the history buffs, you can go on a Battery 519Lantern Tour hosted by Fort Miles Museum and Historic Area in Lewes. You get to take a tour of this WWII – era gun bunker, all by lantern light! $5 a person. Pre-registration recommended – call (302) 644-5007. So cool!!! A lot of the restaurants in Sussex County will also still be having some specials from Valentine’s day – so whether it’s fine dining or fast eats, there is definitely a plethora of options available throughout the region to satisfy the foodie in you.
